NFL Injury Report Week 3: Jordan Love Questionable, Kenneth Walker III Out, AJ Brown Ruled Out

The New York Jets opened Week 3 of the 2024 NFL season with a 24-3 victory over the New England Patriots on Thursday night.

As we head into Week 3, there are still nine teams without a win, including the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, and nine undefeated teams. Will that change after this weekend? Some high-profile injuries around the league could be a factor.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback returned to practice on Wednesday, nearly two weeks after suffering an MCL sprain in Green Bay’s season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

It was reported that Love was expected to be out for 3-6 weeks. He participated in non-contact drills and head coach Matt LaFleur said they would wait and see how Love would develop over the next few days.

“We give him until kickoff, 90 minutes,” LaFleur said.

LaFleur noted Friday that Love is listed as questionable for Sunday.

Without running back Christian McCaffrey and receiver Deebo Samuel, the San Francisco 49ers were without tight end George Kittle at practice on Thursday because of a tight hamstring. Kittle was ultimately considered questionable for Sunday, marking the final likely loss in the 49ers’ game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

Cornerback Charvarius Ward also missed practice due to hamstring and knee issues and was listed on San Francisco’s injured list. Ward has not missed a game since joining the 49ers in 2023.

Houston running back Joe Mixon is questionable for Sunday’s game against 2-0 Minnesota after injuring his ankle in Week 2 against Chicago on a play he called a hip-drop tackle that should have been penalized. Mixon has not practiced this week, according to ESPN’s DJ Bien-Aime.

An oblique injury has kept Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III out of the lineup. He missed their Week 2 win over the Patriots and his status for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins is in question.

Zach Charbonnet, who ran for 38 yards on 14 attempts and scored a touchdown, could start again if Walker is unable to play.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown is officially out for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints, according to the Eagles’ injury report released Friday. Brown told ESPN’s Lisa Salters on Monday that he expects to miss “a couple of weeks” with a hamstring injury.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni initially refused to rule Brown out of the game on Friday, despite the receiver missing practice this week.

“We still have some time. We’ll see how it goes today,” Sirianni said Friday. “We have today, we still have a little bit tomorrow and obviously Sunday before we have to make that decision.”

However, Philadelphia opted to rest the 27-year-old receiver later that day.

Brown first appeared on the Eagles’ injury report Friday after pulling his hamstring during practice. He subsequently missed Saturday’s practice and the team officially ruled him out of Monday night’s game at Philadelphia on Sunday.

Quarterback Russell Wilson will likely miss his third straight game. He is listed as questionable on the Steelers’ injury report with a calf injury. Justin Fields will start in his place.

Fields has completed 70 percent of his passes (30 of 43) for 273 yards and a touchdown, helping Pittsburgh to a 2-0 start. He has also rushed for 84 yards on 22 carries.
