Newcastle to make decision on Alexander Isak’s future soon

Newcastle United will be genuinely hoping to bounce back after a disappointing 2024/25 campaign, which saw the highlight of the season beating Paris Saint-Germain at St James’ Park.

Unfortunately for Eddie Howe and the Saudi Public Investment Fund, that was the high point, but the rest of the campaign was downhill from there.

Howe’s team has been plagued by injuries ever since, causing the Magpies to inevitably drop down the table.

They were disgracefully knocked out of the Champions League in the group stage, while thinking they had just become European champions again for the following season.

When Manchester United then surprisingly defeated Manchester City in the FA Cup final, any idea of European football in 2024/25 disappeared.

Under the circumstances – with no additional revenue from a European campaign and Newcastle having to adhere to the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules – it was clear that a big name had to be sold to improve the situation.

The two stars in the stable who can fetch a hefty sum are always Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes. According to The Guardian, the club value of the former could be around £115m.

According to the outlet, the high price is necessary to fend off interest from clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea. However, there is a reason why they could keep both stars this summer. The club is in talks with a club from the Saudi Pro League for Miguel Almiron, according to a message on X (formerly Twitter) from Keith Downie of Sky Sports.

Both players have already been sold this summer, so a reasonable fee for the Paraguayan international should help keep the encroaching wolves at bay.

It is also thought that Isak is enjoying himself with the giants of the northeast.
