Callum Wilson could move to London in January as two Premier League clubs in the capital are keen to woo him away from Newcastle United.

Wilson has been at St James’ Park since September 2020, having joined from Bournemouth.

The 32-year-old was initially Newcastle’s main man, but his role has been reduced slightly following the arrival of Alexander Isak in August 2022.

Wilson has not yet played for the Magpies this season after suffering a back injury in the summer.

He is expected to return to action next month but his long-term future may not lie on Tyneside.

According to The Sun, Fulham and Brentford are both keeping a close eye on Wilson, whose current contract with Newcastle expires in June 2025.

Brentford sold star striker Ivan Toney to Saudi club Al-Ahli on August 30.

Toney has since scored three goals in four games for the Jeddah club, who like Newcastle are owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund.

Meanwhile, Fulham also appear keen to strengthen their attacking line-up, which currently includes Raul Jimenez, Jay Stansfield and Rodrigo Muniz.

Jimenez scored the opening goal in Fulham’s 3-1 win over Newcastle on Saturday.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe provided an update on Wilson’s injuries ahead of the match.

Howe said: ‘Callum won’t make it to the game. We’ll look and hope he can get back to full training before the international break so hopefully he’ll be ready for the games after that.’
