Newcastle join Chelsea and Spurs in the race for teenage star who scored on his international debut last week

Newcastle United are reportedly in the running to sign Danish left-back Patrick Dorgu.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with the 19-year-old, who has caught the eye of Italian club Lecce over the past 18 months and has made 38 first-team appearances.

Dorgu’s form in Serie A has already earned him two caps for Denmark, with him scoring on his debut in last week’s 2-0 win over Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League.

Even with a reported €40 million price tag, the battle for Dorgu, who can also play as a winger or right-back, looks set to intensify.

Newcastle United join Chelsea and Spurs in Dorgu race

Newcastle United are reportedly in contention with Chelsea and Spurs for Patrick Dorgu.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Newcastle are the latest Premier League players to show interest in Dorgu, despite the fact that fellow left-back Lewis Hall’s loan from Chelsea was recently made permanent.

According to the Italian outlet, Dorgu’s agent, Maurice Ogbodo, has close ties with CAA Base, whose clients include Cole Palmer, James Maddison and Eberechi Eze in the Premier League, as well as Newcastle star Kieran Trippier.

Previous reports ahead of the summer transfer window (via Football Italia) also linked Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan to Dorgu, so the teenager could face an intense battle for his signature in the coming transfer windows.
