It’s impossible not to be charmed by this colorful new card from street artist Angry Dan.

The spread features around 850 cultural landmarks, all in a playful festive style. The map stretches from the mast of Alexandra Palace in the north to its opposite point at Crystal Palace in the south; from Wembley in the north-west to Maritime Greenwich in the south-east.

As well as the obvious, you’ll also find lots of little-known cultural gems, such as Kingston’s falling telephone boxes, the “skateboard graveyard” on the Golden Jubilee Bridges and a Hellraiser VHS tape on Old Kent Road (if you know it, you know it). Also look out for nods to many famous Londoners, including Michael Caine, Dizzee Rascal, Amy Winehouse and Alan Turing.

According to the Walthamstow artist, the work took over 1,000 hours of research, planning and drawing, and we can believe it. A1 prints are available direct from Angry Dan.

You see… he’s not really angry. He looks like he would process your order with calm professionalism.

An enlarged version of the map will also be plastered on the floor of Mandeville Place in the Olympic Park on September 8, as part of the London Mural Festival.

This is the very best map: a map that is visually appealing on a large scale, but whose true beauty lies in the details.
