Netflix Miniseries ‘His & Hers’ Adds Four Actors to Cast

The Netflix miniseries adaptation of the Alice Feeney novel “His & Hers” has added four new cast members.

Crystal Fox, Sunita Mani and Rebecca Rittenhouse have joined as series regulars, with Marin Ireland in a supporting role. They will star alongside previously announced cast members Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal, and Pablo Schreiber. Netflix has ordered six episodes, with production set to begin this fall.

The official description of the series reads: “Set in the sweltering heat of Atlanta, Anna (Thompson) lives in eerie isolation, languishing from her friends and career as a news anchor. But when she hears of a murder in Dahlonega, the sleepy town where she grew up, Anna is brought back to life, thrown into the case, and begins searching for answers. Detective Jack Harper (Bernthal) is strangely suspicious of her involvement and pursues her into the crosshairs of his own investigation. There are two sides to every story: his and hers, which means someone is always lying.”

Fox will play Alice, Mani will play Priya, Rittenhosue will play Lexi, and Ireland will play Zoe. Full character descriptions can be found below.

Fox recently starred in the Apple TV+ series “The Big Door Prize” and the Tyler Perry series “The Haves and the Have Nots,” as well as the feature film “A Fall From Grace.” She also previously starred in the series “In the Heat of the Night.”

Mani previously starred in the Netflix series “GLOW” for the streamer’s three-season run. She has also appeared in series such as “Scavengers Reign,” “No Activity,” and “Mr. Robot.” In films, she has appeared in features such as “Spirited” and “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”

Rittenhouse recently starred in the Hulu series “Maggie” and has appeared in series such as “Blood & Oil,” “The Affair” and “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” as well as films such as “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood” and “Unfriended: Dark Web.”

Ireland is known for series such as “The Umbrella Academy”, “Sneaky Pete”, “Justified: City Primeval” and “Y: The Last Man”. She is known for roles in films such as “Hell or High Water”, “Rachel Getting Married” and “The Understudy”.

Fox is repped by Greene Talent. Mani is repped by UTA, Mosaic and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Rittenhouse is repped by Rogue Management and CAA. Ireland is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.

William Oldroyd, Dee Johnson and “Ozark” co-creator Bill Dubuque serve as writers and executive producers on the series, with Oldroyd also directing three episodes, including the first. Johnson will serve as showrunner. Thompson will also executive produce “His & Hers” under her Viva Maude banner. Kristen Campo of Campout Productions is also executive producing, along with Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael of Freckle Films and Kishori Rajan for Viva Maude. Fifth Season, where Dubuque has an overall deal, is the studio.

Character descriptions:

Crystal Fox as Alice: Anna’s mother, still living in her home in Dahlonega, Georgia. Strong, speaks her mind, lives alone, but maybe shouldn’t. She hasn’t heard from her daughter in a year, but she knows why. Her son-in-law, Detective Jack Harper, keeps an eye on her because her health is failing, which has resulted in strange behavior around town.

Sunita Mani as Priya: Straight-talking efficient, eager to please, and fascinated by murder, Priya is a new Sheriff’s Office detective and partner of Detective Jack Harper in Dahlonega, Georgia. Having left the big city for a job in a small town, Priya brings a sharp quirk to the job that her mentor, Jack, finds both endearing and irritating.

Rebecca Rittenhouse as Lexy: Blonde hair, a Hollywood smile, smart, professional and driven by pure ambition, Lexy is now the anchor of WSK-TV News — a position held by the hugely popular Anna Andrews for years. As a new field reporter at WSK, Lexy took advantage of Anna’s absence and jumped into the anchor position. While she’s “excited” to have Anna back at the news station, she has no plans to give up the anchor role.

Marin Ireland as Zoe: Sharp-tongued and bored, Zoe lives in her parents’ house with Detective Jack Harper and her six-year-old daughter Meg. Her love of wine and her too-tight sweatpants suggest she’s a woman who peaked in high school. She lets Jack stay with her until he gets back on his feet, and the murder in their small town is as thrilling as it is shocking when she learns who the victim is.
