LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska Volleyball announced the four finalists Tuesday for the competition to name John Cook’s new horse.

In a social media post, Nebraska said it received more than 10,000 entries into the contest. The Huskers have whittled that list down to four: Cash, Rev, Rip and Ship.

People can vote now at Huskers.com. The poll will remain open for a week and the winner will be announced on the ‘Kicking Back with the Cooks’.

The winner of the match will win two tickets to a home volleyball match in Nebraska.

Cook – who received a contract extension earlier this month – said he would use his $70,000 retention bonus to buy a horse in central Nebraska.

The Big Ten Coach of the Year suggested to Nebraska Athletic Director Troy Dannen that he buy him a horse instead of giving him an increasing salary.

“Troy loved the idea and while they couldn’t specifically write that into the contract, the retention bonus will be used for No. 415,” Cook said in a statement.
