NBA insider thinks Giannis-to-Warriors trade ‘worth watching’

“One that I think will always be watched in the NBA is whether the wheels fall off the Bucks,” Amick told Tim Kawakami. “We know Joe Lacob has long dreamed of Giannis coming to the Warriors. Again, unlikely, but Khris Middleton is going to be a free agent next summer… I think Giannis is worth keeping an eye on.” (h/t Warriors Wire)

Speculation about the Greek superstar’s possible move to Northern California has been rife for years, fueled by public displays of admiration between Antetokounmpo and Curry.

After Milwaukee won the 2021 NBA Finals, the Bucks have struggled in their last three playoff appearances, sparking debate over Antetokounmpo’s possible desire to leave the only franchise he knows.

Milwaukee took a gamble last season by signing eight-time NBA All-Star Damian Lillard, but the Bucks still disappointed in the playoffs with their second straight first-round exit.

After signing a three-year contract extension in 2023, Antetokounmpo is tied to Milwaukee through the 2027-28 NBA season, making a trade for the star player a difficult task.

However, according to Amick, it’s worth keeping an eye on as Golden State enters a new era of Warriors basketball.
