Nakuru: Woman stabbed by pastor speaks from hospital bed as calls for justice grow

A 33-year-old woman, Florence Wanjiku, is recovering at Optimum Hospital in Nakuru after her estranged lover, Pastor Elias Njau, allegedly stabbed her multiple times before fleeing on Thursday, November 21.

The pastor, affiliated with the Jesus Compassion Ministry Church, is said to have carried out the attack on their home in Rongai, Nakuru.

What did Wanjiku say about her attack by lover?

Speaking to KTN from her hospital bed, Wanjiku said she met Pastor Njau at an entertainment venue earlier Thursday to discuss business and personal matters.

She later returned home, unaware that Njau had followed her. When she reached the gate, she saw Njau, who started attacking her.

“We met and the conversation went smoothly. We discussed business issues and other issues that were a bit personal. We came to an agreement and then I went home. He followed me home, and when I stood at the gate, he came attack me,” Wanjiku said painfully.

Recalling the harrowing incident, she said that before Njau could reach her, she tried to drive away but accidentally hit his car, allowing him to overtake her.

Wanjiku said Njau dragged her out of the car before stabbing her in the head, hands and legs.

“He came to attack me, I tried to pull away and run. Unfortunately I hit his car from behind. I locked the door but the window was open. So he turned off the vehicle and took the keys. He hit then I hit me on the head and pulled me out with his hands. Then he started stabbing me. I tried to protect myself with my hands,” she said painfully.

Wanjiku was rescued by neighbors who arrived on the scene and prevented her lover from harming her further.

Wanjiku was then rushed to hospital for treatment. However, Njau followed her there and tried to reach her but security officers stopped her.

‘He came here later. He stood at the gate and told the gatekeeper that his wife was here with the child, so he wanted to enter but was denied, she said.
