‘Naked and Afraid’ star Sarah Danser has died aged 34 after a car accident in Hawaii

‘Naked and Afraid’ star Sarah Danser died Tuesday after being involved in a car accident in Hawaii. She was 34.

Honolulu police confirmed to local news outlet KSLA News 12 that the car crash occurred on October 20 in Kahala, Hawaii.

Authorities say the survivor was sitting in the passenger seat of a car when the 59-year-old male driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a parked car.

Police confirmed that speed appeared to be a factor in the collision and not drugs or alcohol.

After the accident, Danser was hospitalized in critical condition, while the driver was in serious condition.

A woman in the parked car was also transported to a medical center in serious condition.

Sarah’s father, Dan Danser, and her brother, Jake Danser, arrived at the hospital Tuesday; However, Dancer succumbed to her injuries later that day.

Her relatives said Sarah was wearing lei, scarves and bandanas given by her close friends when she passed away.

“Magical is the way you can describe her. Sarah had a positive energy about her that really filled the environment she was in,” Jake told the outlet.

Her grieving father also remembered “how much of a difference” Sarah made “in the lives of others.”

“I think she saved my life once while diving in Indonesia,” Dan said.

The Hawaii-based company where Danser worked, Island Divers Hawaii, is working with her family to organize an ocean memorial for the late master diver.

Sarah, a two-time breast cancer survivor, lived part-time on a boat in Kewalo Basin and was known for her adventures around the world.

She appeared in Discovery’s ‘Naked and Afraid’ in 2017 and in the spin-off ‘Naked and Afraid XL’ a year later. She recently starred in ‘Fight to Survive’.

The boat captain was from Castle Rock, Colorado, and had lived in Hawaii for about twelve years.

‘She was smart. She went underwater. She found food, snails and slugs and things like that,” her diving buddy Tim Mason told KSLA. “She knew what she had to do to survive and she did a great job.”

Sarah’s last social media post, shared on October 11, showed the adventurer doing what she loved most: exploring the sea on a boat with a big smile on her face.

She described herself as a “pirate” in her Instagram bio.
