Nagelsmann believes Havertz can become a world-class player in multiple positions

Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann believes Arsenal star Kai Havertz has the potential to develop into a world-class player in multiple positions.

Havertz has started the season strongly with two goals and an assist in Arsenal’s first three Premier League games, and was also responsible for the goalscoring duties for Germany as they beat Hungary 5-0 in the Nations League on Saturday night.

The 25-year-old delivered an impressive performance in a free role where he was deployed behind West Ham’s Niclas Fullkrug and Borussia Dortmund’s Maximilian Beier.

Nagelsmann’s great praise for Havertz

Nagelsmann was impressed with Havertz’s performances and believes he has the potential to develop into a world-class player in multiple positions.

“Kai has made a huge leap forward in the last two years,” he told reporters.

“He has the potential to be world class in many positions.

“He runs incredibly well and has become very smart. Sometimes he lacks a bit of luck in finishing.

“The co-captaincy is good for him. He is a smart person, very reflective. He is very humble. I hope he continues to believe in himself.”

The former Chelsea player has a very good record for the national team and in 52 games he scored 19 goals and provided 15 assists.

The Germany international was highly regarded during his time at Bayer Leverkusen and eventually made an expensive move to Chelsea.

Despite showing his skills occasionally, including scoring the winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final, nothing special ever happened for Havertz at Stamford Bridge. He made a surprise move to the Emirates Stadium last summer.
