Mysterious Gravity Falls website raises hopes of series comeback among fans – Destructoid

Gravity waterfalls Fans are all in a tizzy over a website first discovered in The Book of Bill by show creator Alex Hirsch, which was released on July 23. The website, ‘This is Not a Website Dot Com,’ has raised hopes that Gravity waterfalls may be making a comeback.

If this all sounds a little complicated, don’t worry. Even I’m confused and I’m a fan of the show.

When fans first discovered the password-protected site via The Book of Bill, they were surprisingly quick to figure out that the password was “TJ Eckleburg,” whose eyes are fixed on a billboard overlooking the Valley of Ashes in The Great Gatsby. I know, it’s all a bit bizarre, but bear with me.

After visitors entered this password into the password field, they were taken to a countdown screen.

This immediately raised hopes that some form of announcement would be on the horizon regarding Gravity waterfalls and a possible comeback, but of course it couldn’t be that easy. When the countdown reached zero, one of the show’s characters, Soos, appeared and said they were having technical problems and were trying to figure out which wires went where. Then the countdown continued to negative numbers.

And so it went for over a week, the countdown continued and nothing changed. Fans of the show tried for a long time to figure out if it was possible to do something. Even Jason Ritter, who voices Dipper, took to Twitter to fan the flames of fan speculation with a hilariously bizarre and very long thread.

And then today everything changed. The countdown stopped and fans were asked to refresh the page. When they did, a whole new mystery unfolded before their eyes and a whole lot of secrets were waiting to be discovered.

The website now has a text box that you can type in. Fans have gone wild and found inputs that produce some form of result. So far there is a long list of inputs, but here are some of the best ones I have found:

  • Dorito
  • Six
  • To stand
  • Mysterious hut
  • Valley Cineris
  • Fortnite
  • Disney
  • God
  • Foreign
  • Lalalalala

There are many more than just this one, and I’m sure more will be discovered in the coming days. My absolute favorite is “weird,” which evokes Weird Al Yankovic trapped in the computer and screaming to be let out.

Despite all this, there is still no confirmed third season of Gravity waterfallsand maybe it won’t. This could all be a clever publicity stunt to drum up attention for The Book of Bill, and if that’s the case, it’s pure genius. Either way, this has certainly reignited the passion fans have for the show and the hope that season three will one day hit our screens.
