Myles Garrett reportedly has trade interest after the Cleveland Browns fell to 1-6 on Sunday.

According to Sports illustrated Albert Breer, the opponents have checked Garrett, but he does not believe the defensive line will be moved.

“I don’t think they will move Myles Garrett (but there has been some fishing; anyone can call), Denzel Ward or Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah,” Breer wrote. “But guys like Za’Darius Smith or Jack Conklin would be valuable to others and could be more realistic targets.”

Cleveland has already moved one key contributor by trading six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills on Oct. 15.

Still, it’s hard to imagine the Browns dealing with Garrett. Cooper would become a free agent at the end of the season, while the pass rusher has two years left on his current contract.

Garrett has also established himself as one of the most consistent defensive players in the league since being selected No. 1 overall in the 2017 NFL draft, spending all eight years of his career with the organization. He posted double-digit sack totals in six of his first seven seasons, beating opposing quarterbacks at least 14 times over the past three years.

He was a big reason why the Browns earned a surprise playoff appearance last season and won the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year award.

Garrett has remained effective in 2024, recording four sacks and seven tackles for loss, along with two forced fumbles.

After starting quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon during a 21-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Cleveland was able to offload more veterans before the Nov. 5 trade deadline.

Although opponents reportedly covet Garrett, he may not be available for negotiations.
