Murder case witness attacked at Robeson Co. Jail, three inmates face additional charges

Robeson County (WPDE) — Three inmates at the Robeson County Detention Center have been charged in connection with the assault of a fellow inmate, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers told ABC 15 the inmate was a witness in a murder case.

Daniel Austin Brooks, 30, of Rowland; Trysten Tyler, 22, of Lumberton; and Gatlin Hardin, 29, of St. Pauls, are all charged with conspiracy and intimidating a witness.

Tyler and Hardin are also charged with simple assault.

The three inmates are currently being held without bond on these charges.

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
