Yerson Mosquera sings the praises of MLS

Major League Soccer is a very good competition“, he told the media on Friday. “I’ve said that from the beginning. It is physically demanding and helps you growIt has helped me regain the self-confidence that I had lost a long time ago. MLS helped me understand the game again. I am very grateful for the opportunity to return here, where I have shown that I have the qualities to take a step up in my career. I follow MLS and Cincinnati. I have many acquaintances at different clubs, so I always try to keep an eye on them and support them, but when they face each other, it is up to me to decide (laughs)”.

Yerson missed only one match during his time at Villarreal. In LaLiga he played 16 games, all but two of which were in the starting line-up, and he also played in the Europa Leaguewhere he played both matches of the round of 16 against Olympique Marseille. “It was an excellent season. I felt very good at Villarreal,” he added. “I have a lot of respect for the club. I had people who always supported me there. I would give it a 10/10.”

When asked to compare LaLiga and the Premier Leaguehe said, “They are two completely different leagues. The Spanish league is very tactical, you pass the ball around, you have to keep possession. The Premier League is completely different, it is more physical, tactical also plays a role, but it is more based on physical input. It is difficult, (the Premier League) is a league that requires you to make quick and important decisions.”

All I feel is admiration and gratitude for the joy they gave us, regardless of whether I was there or not. There is a good group, it is a family and we are moving forward.”

The pride of wearing the yellow jersey: “Every Colombian player wants to wear the national team shirt, it will always be an honor to wear those colors. Every time I have had the opportunity to go, I have tried to give 100% and not give anything away on the pitch. Let’s hope that this season is full of blessings so that I can go to the national team.”

The League Cup: “I know, I would have loved it because the Mexican clubs are very good. It’s a demanding competition. It’s going to be a great tournament to enjoy.”

Preparing for the season with Wolves: “The preparation is demanding. We try to give the training in such a way that it comes out in the match. And the facilities are perfect, great, we are all very happy with the attention we get.”
