More than twenty people were killed in the Israeli attack on northern Lebanon

An Israeli attack on Sunday killed at least 23 people, including seven children, and injured six others in Almat, a village in the northern Jbeil district, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.

The ministry said the death toll was likely to rise as rescuers continued to search the rubble for victims. It added that body parts recovered in the aftermath of the attack would undergo DNA testing to identify them.

In southern Lebanon, three medics were also killed in an Israeli attack that targeted an Islamic Health Authority civil protection vehicle in Adloun, Saida district.

The ministry condemned Israel’s repeated attacks on paramedics as a “war crime.”

Earlier, Lebanese media reported an Israeli attack on a house in the historic eastern city of Baalbek, which was not preceded by an “evacuation” warning from the Israeli army.

Over the past two days, the Israeli army has carried out a series of airstrikes on southern and eastern villages and locations.

Overnight, more than a dozen Israeli airstrikes hit Beirut’s southern suburbs, known locally as Dahiyeh, where many buildings have now been almost completely razed by nearly two months of heavy bombing.

On Saturday, Israeli airstrikes on southern and eastern Lebanon, including Tire and the Baalbek-Hermel region, killed at least 40 people, including several children.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, more than 3,130 people have been killed in Lebanon since fighting between Israel and Hezbollah began in October last year. Most of them have been since September 23, when Israel launched a massive bombing campaign in Lebanon and a ground invasion.
