Month-long futsal championship ends in Helmand – Pajhwok Afghan News

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A month-long indoor soccer championship concluded in the southern province of Helmand on Saturday, with Qais Ghani’s team winning the title.

The Sabawon Hashimi team reached the finish line in the Folad Jam competition, in which 10 teams participated.

Hafiz Abdul Bari Rashid, director of the provincial Information and Culture Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Folad Jam competitions started about a month ago with ten teams.

The competitions were sponsored by a national merchant, Rashid, who urged other businessmen to encourage the athletes and sponsor such events.

A member of the management committee, Seddiqullah Seddiqi, told Pajhwok that the event lasted for a month and that Qais Ghani took first place, while Sabawon Hashimi took second place.

A number of players called the matches useful and called on other young people to make time for sports in addition to their daily activities.

Athlete Abdul Qayoum thanked the Sports Directorate for organizing the competitions and asked other young people to engage in healthy activities
