Mohini Dey breaks silence on AR Rahman link rumours: ‘Respect my privacy’ – Telangana Today

Mohini Dey addressed the swirling rumors via an Instagram story, calling out the “absolute BS” circulating. She wrote, “I have received a large number of interview requests and I know exactly why, but I must respectfully decline them all. I refuse to tank ABSOLUTE BS. My energy isn’t worth wasting on rumors. Please respect my privacy (sic).”

Mumbai: As the controversy surrounding Grammy and Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman’s divorce, and rumors about his alleged link-up with his bassist Mohini Dey, continue to swirl, the latter has now responded to the controversy and asked for privacy.

Mohini recently took to the Stories section of her Instagram and shared a note decrying the ‘absolute BS’ doing the rounds.

She wrote: ‘I’ve been getting a huge number of interview requests and I know exactly what they’re about so I have to respectfully decline them all because I’m not interested in fueling ABSOLUTE BS. I don’t think my energy is worth spending on RUMOURS. Please respect my privacy (sic)”.

Earlier, when Rahman’s wife Saira Banu announced her divorce from the composer through a statement circulated by her lawyer Vandana Shah, speculations about Rahman’s entanglement with Mohini started doing the rounds as Mohini too announced her divorce from husband Mark Hartsuch.

Mohini and Mark shared the news in a joint post on Instagram. They wrote: “Dear friends, family, fans and followers, It is with a heavy heart that Mark and I announce that we have parted ways. First of all, as a commitment to our friends and family, this is a mutual understanding between us. Although we remain good friends, we both decided that we wanted different things in life and that a divorce by mutual consent was the best way to move forward.

They added: “We will still work together on several projects, including the groups MaMoGi and Mohini Dey. We have always been proud that we have worked well together and that will not stop anytime soon. 🙂 The big thing we want to wish is love for everyone in the world. We appreciate your support in all the ways you have given us. Please respect the decision we have made by being positive towards us at this time and respecting our privacy. We would not appreciate any judgement.”

This fueled the rumors that something was cooking between the two musicians. However, Saira’s lawyer Vandana later clarified that the reason behind Saira and Rahman’s divorce is not Mohini but their personal dynamics.
