MJF Makes Daniel Garcia a Star & The Biggest Takeaways From AEW All Out 2024 Results | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats & Rumors

Mercedes Moné made a strong claim when she signed with AEW, calling herself the best female wrestler of all time.

While she has had several strong matches since her return to AEW, she has struggled to break the performance ceiling within the company.

Her Double or Nothing match with Willow Nightingale was phenomenal, as was her work with Stephanie Vaquer on Forbidden Door, but she hasn’t reached that level with others yet.

She and Hikaru Shida had a good match, but it was still the weakest match of an otherwise great match.

This is a follow-up to an unfortunate match with Dr. Britt Baker, DMD at All In, which AEW has largely ignored since it happened. Even if it was The Doctor’s fault, The CEO set a high standard for herself that she has yet to fully meet.

Moné has set a new standard for the women’s division with her signing and hopefully this will lead to bigger contracts for talents like Willow Nightingale, Kris Statlander and Mariah May when the time is right.

Still, it would be nice to see her push AEW to step up to the top level in the women’s division, perhaps finally putting a real women’s match on pay-per-view.

A small step in the right direction would be to move away from the Moné Maker finisher, who fails to impress even her best opponents.
