Mixed day for Bangladesh in Jr. AHF Cup Hockey

DHAKA, June 19, 2024 (BSS) – It was a mixed day for Bangladesh as the men’s team registered victory and the women’s team suffered defeat in their respective matches of the ongoing Men’s and Women’s Junior AHF Cup Hockey in Singapore on Wednesday.

On that day, Bangladesh men’s hockey team maintained their winning streak in the match by beating Thailand by 4-2 goals. With this third consecutive win, the Bangladesh men’s team almost confirmed their place in the semi-finals of the tournament with nine points in the table.

In the proceedings, Thailand took the lead in the 11th minute but Bangladesh put up a brilliant fight back, scoring four goals in the 15th, 26th, 40th and 48th minutes. Thailand scored their second goal in the 56th minute of the match.

On the other hand, Bangladesh women’s hockey team suffered a 0-3 defeat against Chinese Taipei with Chun scoring a hat-trick with all three goals for the winning side coming in the 23rd, 35th and 45th minutes.
