Mitsubishi’s 2024 Diamana Blue Board Axis

Mitusbishi Diamana Blue Board Shaft

The Diamana Blue Board is a mid-launch, mid spin profile.

Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi Diamana remains one of the most recognized names in the industry. Used by Tiger Woods, Brooks Koepka, Tony Finau and countless pros over the years, Diamana is not a specific offering, but rather a compilation of different profiles designed to meet the needs of golfers looking for certain launch and spin characteristics.

Compared to the recently released low launch, low spin Diamana White Board, the sixth generation Diamond BB — commonly known as “Blue Board” — is aimed at a wider group of players with mid-launch, mid-spin characteristics that can best be described as “smooth-feeling.”

The Diamana BB (Blue Board) is the second profile in the latest generation of Diamana shafts. It features the traditional branding that made Diamana popular, including a return to the original 53/63/73/83 weight class designations. This shaft features advanced engineering and material innovation, making it a top choice on tour. Key Features: Maximum Energy Transfer: Utilizes super high modulus 80-ton Dialead Pitch Fiber in the butt section. Increased Stability: Utilizes high modulus 46-ton fiber in the corner layers of the shaft to reduce torque. Enhanced Feel and Durability: Mitsubishi’s patented Xlink Tech system increases the overall strength and durability of the shaft while increasing carbon fiber volume for superior feel.

Blue Board uses 80-ton Dialead high-modulus Pitch Fiber in the butt section of the shaft and 46-ton fiber in the corner layers of the shaft to reduce torque. Keeping torque under control remains a priority at Blue Board, but you won’t find the same reinforced tip section that allows White Board to keep launch and spin low for faster swing speeds.

“We are humbled by the enthusiasm we have seen from both consumers and industry partners for this new generation of Diamana,” said Mark Gunther, senior director of sales and marketing for Mitsubishi Chemical Sporting Goods Division. “While people are really loving the new look, this new shaft series goes beyond the retro cosmetics. Golfers who try Diamana (Blue Board) will immediately recognize the performance characteristics so often associated with the Diamana Blue Board franchise.”

“The Diamana brand originally started with a blue board profile midway through its launch in 2005 and we believe this new BB profile is a worthy modern successor.”

Durability and feel remain two of the most important aspects of the Diamana range. Mitsubishi is able to tick both boxes by using a new Xlink Tech Resin System that increases the overall strength and durability of the shaft while also increasing the volume of Dialead carbon fiber in the handle and corner layers. The material ensures consistent energy transfer on impact with lower torque for greater stability.

While much has changed with Blue Board, the overall graphics package remains the same. The legendary flowers and surf iconography that date back to the original launch in 2004 are still visible in the center section.

Mitsubishi’s sixth-generation Blue Board, which this year achieved its 40th shaft win, is available to order now through Fairway Jockey for $360.
