Mike Tyson ‘ready’ for rescheduled Jake Paul fight

Mike Tyson says he is “prepared” for his November 15 fight against Jake Paul after the fight’s original date had to be postponed.

The two were scheduled to fight on July 20, but Tyson suffered from a stomach ulcer, forcing the bout with the YouTuber to be rescheduled.

The fight, which will take place at the 80,000-capacity AT&T Stadium in Texas, is a professional fight with a number of stipulations.

Tyson, 58, has not fought professionally since 2005 but says he is ready to knock Paul out.

“I had a little setback. I got sick, but I feel good. I’m just ready,” Tyson said at a joint news conference on Sunday.

“He (Paul) may have been in the ring with people who had the same intentions, but in reality that wasn’t the case.

“Once I get this guy, it’s all over. He’s gonna run. He’s gonna run like a thief.”

Although Tyson fought fellow veteran Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match in 2020, Paul is 31 years his junior.

When asked about his motivation, Tyson said, “Because I can do it. Who else can do it but me? We have a YouTuber fighting the best fighter that ever lived.”

Paul, 27, has a career record of 10-1.

“I love Mike and I respect him, but until November 15th we are no longer friends,” Paul said.

The fight will consist of eight two-minute rounds and both fighters will wear 14oz gloves, instead of 10oz gloves.
