Mercedes Mone recalls clashes with WWE bosses – TJR Wrestling

Mercedes Mone opens up about the difficulties of working with WWE.

Before taking the world by storm as Mercedes Mone, the AEW TBS Champion made a name for herself in WWE as Sasha Banks. As her career progressed, Mone became known not only as one of the biggest female stars in the business, but also as one of the biggest stars on the entire roster.

Of course, as her star continued to shine, interest came from outside the wrestling bubble, landing her a role in The Mandalorian. However, it appears the process was anything but easy.

When asked in a new interview with WFAN if there were any restrictions in WWE, Mone responded, “Oh yeah. Oh yeah.”

Mone further described trying to get time off from WWE to film The Mandalorian as “pulling teeth.”

“That’s definitely a big reason why I came to AEW. Even doing The Mandalorian was pulling teeth with WWE, just to even try to get time off to film that show. Tony (Khan) says, ‘Whatever I need. If I need the private jet to get from filming in LA to a show, it’s available to me.’

Mercedes Mone remains silent on WWE exit

During the same interview, Mercedes Mone was asked about her controversial departure from WWE.

While she declined to go into detail about what exactly happened on that crazy night in May 2022, Mone spoke about the importance of trusting her own instincts. The star added that she was able to achieve and experience so much because she followed her heart and left after taking a stand.

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door will see Mercedes Mone take on Stephanie Vaquer in a huge “Winner Take All” match. Both Mone’s TBS Championship and Vaquer’s NJPW Strong Women’s Championship will be on the line.
