Medical Today: Player agrees two-year contract to leave West Ham

After a hugely busy summer in terms of recruiting players for the club, West Ham’s board will understand that some expenditure will need to be made in the final days of the transfer window to balance the finances.

The last thing the Hammers want is to fall foul of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rules, when they have been so successful in convincing players to join them.

One player who was known to be surplus to requirements was former captain Kurt Zouma, but a failed medical at Al Ahli meant the East Londoners were still stuck with a player they didn’t want.

Fortunately, Zouma has signed a two-year contract with Al-Orobah, according to the Saudi daily Ar Riyadiyah, and will undergo his medical on Wednesday.

Irons’ management will be hoping that there are no issues with this medical as if he fails again his options are very limited at this late stage in the transfer window.
