Max Domi finalizes new deal with Toronto Maple Leafs

It seems like Max Domi is committed to staying with the Toronto Maple Leafs and it seems like that is working out just fine for the Maple Leafs organization.

While no deal has been announced yet, National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman reports that Domi and the Maple Leafs are close to finalizing a deal. According to the insider, talks between the two parties have intensified significantly in the past 24 hours and it appears that a deal will be struck.

Domi was rumored to be looking for a four-year deal with an average annual value and a cap hit of $4 million per season, but it sounds like the Maple Leafs have been able to negotiate that price down slightly . Friedman reports that he expects the deal to be for four years, but adds that he expects it to be just under the AAV of $4 million per season.

This appears to be a solid deal for the Maple Leafs, representing a raise of just under $1 million for Domi, who finished the 2023-24 season as a core part of the Maple Leafs offense.

Domi played 80 regular season games for the Maple Leafs, scoring 9 goals and adding 38 assists for a total of 47 points in the regular season. In the Maple Leafs’ 7 playoff games, he had one goal and 3 assists for a total of 4 points.
