Marvel sets Deadpool & Wolverine Disney+ release date for next month

Deadpool & Wolverine is coming to Disney+ on November 12, Marvel has announced.

After arriving in theaters on July 26 and on DVD and Blu-ray last week, Marvel announced the November 12 release date as the streaming debut of Deadpool & Wolverine.

The Disney+ version of the film comes with a bonus feature usually reserved for physical releases, as director Shawn Levy and star Ryan Reynolds have provided filmmaker commentary for fans to listen to alongside the main Deadpool & Wolverine movie.

To celebrate the announcement in a typically strange way, Marvel is renovating the bathrooms of a handful of sports arenas in the US. Urinals, bathroom mirrors and towel dispensers will be covered with the Deadpool & Wolverine logo as a promotional move for the Disney+ date.

Fans can enjoy the upgrades at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia for the Detroit Pistons and Philadelphia 76ers games today, October 30. The FedEX Forum in Memphis will get the same treatment for the Brooklyn Nets and Memphis Grizzlies games, in addition to the Nationwide Arena in Columbus for the New York Islanders and Columbus Blue Jackets game.

Those attending the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia tomorrow for the St. Louis Blues and Philadelphia Flyers game can also sample the Deadpool & Wolverine themed bathrooms.

Deadpool & Wolverine was a much-needed hit for Marvel. The wealth of references and cameos from comic book film history attracted characters from far beyond the worlds of the two titular heroes, and in just its third weekend available, it surpassed $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

In IGN’s 7/10 review we said, “Deadpool & Wolverine is a hilarious superhero comedy full of surprising, self-referential MCU humor and unsurprising plot and pacing issues.”
