Mario Ballotelli has been left embarrassed after Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters declined to sign the 34-year-old for two main reasons

Mario Balotelli felt humiliated after Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters turned down the chance to sign him.

There were reportedly two major reasons why Kerala Blasters opted not to move the 34-year-old.

Former Italy international Balotelli is a free agent after completing his second spell at Turkish club Adana Demirspor.

Balotelli played for Manchester City between 2010 and 2013 and later played for Liverpool for a while.

He also played for clubs such as Inter Milan, AC Milan, Nice and Marseille.

According to The Times Of India, Kerala Blasters have opted not to sign Balotelli due to his status and disciplinary record.

Balotelli was not considered a realistic target for Kerala Blasters.

Throughout his career, Balotelli was involved in numerous controversial incidents.

Earlier this year, he was seen setting off a small firework in Demirspor’s dressing room.

In 2011, while still a City player, Balotelli’s £3million rented Cheshire mansion caught fire after a friend set off fireworks in the striker’s bathroom.

Balotelli escaped unharmed after fleeing the fire at 1am. Just 36 hours later, Balotelli scored against rivals Manchester United before unveiling his infamous ‘Why always me?’ shirt.

Shortly after arriving at City in 2010, Balotelli crashed his car on the way to training. He had £5,000 in cash in his back pocket and when asked why he was carrying so much money, he replied: ‘Because I’m rich’.
