Margate: Man, 19, detained after attack with corrosive liquid

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after four people were injured by a corrosive substance.

According to Kent Police, a group was involved in a disturbance in Mansion Street, Margate, shortly before 01:15 GMT on Saturday.

During the incident, police said a man sprayed others with a liquid, believed to be a strong alkali.

Two people suffered facial injuries and another two had redness and irritation in their face or chest.
