Marc Guehi responds to Crystal Palace fan’s question about staying

Marc Guehi has done little to convince Crystal Palace fans that he will stay at the club beyond this summer.

Guehi impressed during his three-year, 111-game spell at Palace since joining from Chelsea before breaking into the England squad.

The 24-year-old played a key role in the Three Lions’ journey to the final of Euro 2024 this summer, eventually losing 2-1 to Spain in the final in Berlin.

However, Guehi’s form has not gone unnoticed and he is now being widely linked with a move to Newcastle United, with Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix and Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah already being mentioned as possible replacements.

Of course, Eagles supporters would like to keep Guehi. He is a very popular player at Selhurst Park and has worn the captain’s armband on several occasions in recent years.

In a clip circulating on social media, a Palace fan asked Guehi if he was staying at the club, with the centre-back simply looking back and struggling with his shoulders.

That doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll leave, it could simply be that the player doesn’t know how to respond to the request. But Guehi’s refusal to say he’s staying will undoubtedly cause tension among Palace supporters.

According to Chronicle Live, Newcastle currently have a £50m bid on the table for Guehi, who is valued at £65m by Crystal Palace. The London club are currently sticking to the asking price.
