Manchester United make early decision on dismissal

Erik Ten Hag will not be sacked as Manchester United manager during the international break.

The Dutchman has had a terrible start to the season, with Sunday’s 3-0 defeat at home to arch-rivals Liverpool the team’s second defeat of the season.

The Red Devils beat Fulham on the opening day, but lost 2-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion and are now 14th in the table with just three points.

Erik Ten Hag under pressure at Manchester United

It couldn’t be more beautiful than it is: the former Ajax manager is under enormous pressure as his chances of becoming the first Premier League manager to be sacked have diminished dramatically.

Erik Ten Hag has won just one of his first three Premier League games of the season.

But despite United’s meteoric start to the new 2024-25 season, the club’s management, which includes INEOS CEO Sir Jim Ratcliffe, will not be parting ways with the 54-year-old any time soon, according to a recent report from Football Insider.

United’s top decision-makers are prepared to give their struggling manager until the end of the year and hope results improve quickly.

During the summer transfer window, Ten Hag made five signings for the first team, worth a total of £205.9 million, making United the second-biggest player in the country, after Chelsea (£219.6 million).
