Man reported missing after car crash near Snowshoe

SNOWSHOE, W.Va. (WDTV) – A man has been reported missing after a car crash near Snowshoe.

Jonathan Anthony Royal, 62, was last seen Tuesday in the Snowshoe Area, according to the Pocahontas County Office of Emergency Management.

Members of the Snowshoe Resort Community District Ranger Department responded to a car crash on Snowshoe Drive on Tuesday and found a vehicle, believed to be driven by Royal, in the woods at the summit.

The vehicle appeared to have been there for several hours, but no one was found, officials said.

Rangers searched for Royal in the wooded area next to the crash and were unable to find him. They also contacted his friends and no one has seen him since before the crash, officials said.

Royal is 5′5″ and weighs 185 pounds.
