Man convicted of involvement in 2023 North Lincoln shooting

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln man involved in a shooting in North Lincoln last year was sentenced Wednesday.

Tramel Patterson, 37, was sentenced to 20 to 30 years behind bars on two counts of second-degree assault. He had previously been charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, unlawful/intentional discharge of a firearm and use of a firearm to commit a crime, but these were dropped as part of a plea agreement. Patterson was given credit for 574 days served.

On April 16, 2023, Lincoln police officers responded to a shooting in the area of ​​Portia and Adams streets.

According to court documents, investigators said surveillance video shows 33-year-old Adrian Lott of Lincoln approaching a parked car near an apartment garage and talking to a woman, when Patterson approached and the men then began gunfire to exchange.

Court documents show Lott, Patterson and the woman were all injured and arrived at a local hospital after the shooting.

Patterson was arrested a few days after the shooting and Lott was taken into custody in May 2023.

Lott faces charges of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, second-degree assault and use of a firearm to commit a crime.
