Man arrested for serious assault in Naples: family dispute behind stabbing

Last night, the carabinieri of the operational unit and the PMZ of the Vomero company from Naples arrested Vincenzo Rongo, a 46-year-old from the Spanish district already known to law enforcement, for serious personal injury with a bladed weapon. It concerns the events that took place yesterday via Morghen, when a 21-year-old was injured by five stabs from an unknown person. The hypothesis of the attack for traffic reasons has been ruled out. An investigation by the military, coordinated by the Naples prosecutor’s office, showed that the two protagonists of the incident knew each other. The reason for the attack appears to be related to family conflict. The victim – discharged from Cardarelli with a prognosis of 15 days due to multiple stab wounds to the limbs – is said to have not recognized the 46-year-old man wearing a helmet. The suspect, identified thanks to the analysis of valuable images from the surveillance system, was tracked down at the Pellegrini Hospital where he had gone to have some minor cuts treated, probably related to the morning event. The clothing that the 46-year-old wore through Morghen was found and seized.
