Man arrested, charged after woman was found stabbed to death in her Meyerland apartment

HOUSTON, Texas – A man has been arrested and charged after police say he stabbed a woman to death in the Meyerland area last week.

Michael West, 48, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police found a 33-year-old woman stabbed to death in her apartment.

On Saturday, October 12, Houston police responded to reports of a shooting at the apartments at 5440 Braesvalley Drive and found the woman unconscious with multiple stab wounds.

A witness told police they saw a man in the woman’s apartment. While still investigating the woman’s apartment, officers received a call from West who wanted to turn himself in for questioning.

It is not clear whether West’s charge will be expanded to murder over the stabbing.
