Police had to make an arrest at Folsom Field in Colorado on Thursday night.

A 48-year-old man suspected of hit-and-run crashes was arrested after he allegedly drove his truck onto Folsom Field. The arrest came after Boulder police were alerted to a truck that had been involved in multiple hit-and-run crashes around the University of Colorado campus.

The University of Colorado police then got involved. From 9 News:

Officers attempted to detain the driver, but he continued to drive away, police said. The driver was then spotted near Colorado Avenue and 28th Street when CU Boulder police attempted to detain him on Stadium Drive.

Campus police said the driver rammed a gate to enter Folsom Field. The University of Colorado Boulder sent out an emergency alert on social media just before 7:20 p.m. Thursday warning of a heavy police presence at Folsom Field and advising the public to avoid the area.

The driver, Karl Haglund, surrendered after being surrounded by police after his truck drove onto the field. He was arrested on nine separate charges, including attempted assault, multiple counts of leaving the scene of a crash and trespassing, a charge that allegedly stemmed from driving his truck onto the field. According to ESPN, Haglund had parked his truck at one of the 40-yard-line markers.

Luckily for the Colorado grounds crew, there’s no rush to get the field ready for Saturday night. Colorado plays Colorado State in Week 3 before returning home to play Baylor on September 21.
