Mammograms in Claresholm: mobile service coming in December

Alberta Health Services’ mobile mammography trailer will hit the city of Claresholm, Alta., next month. visits.

Mammograms are x-rays of the breast used to detect early signs of cancer.

In a news release Wednesday, AHS said mammograms are the best way to detect breast cancer early, when treatment may work better.

“Being screened for breast cancer saves lives,” AHS said.

The trailer will be parked at the Aquatic Center at 212 Fairway Dr. from December 7 to 11. W. The trailer will be aimed at women aged 45 to 74 – the group most at risk of developing breast cancer.

Screening is free for eligible individuals, but appointments are required.
