Makaira wins another silver medal at Junior Pan Am

Cyclist Makaira Wallace of Trinidad and Tobago won her second silver medal at the 2024 Junior Pan American Track Championships in Lima, Peru.

The JLD Cycling Academy rider finished second in the 500 meters of the championship on Saturday.

Wallace finished behind Stefany Cuadrado Florez of Colombia, with compatriot Mariana Perez Polo in third place.

The cyclist from Trinidad and Tobago won silver in the women’s sprint on Friday.

Trinidad and Tobago’s total at the Junior Pan American Track Championships now stands at five, with three silver medals and two bronze medals.

The team sprint trio of Danell James, Jelani Nedd and Syndel Samaroo won the silver medal on the opening day before James won the bronze medal in the Keirin a day later.

Jadian Neaves also took the bronze medal in the men’s points race.
