The Kern River Valley Major Softball opened the Little League All-Star Tournament against the team from Tehachapi. The KRV team played this match on Saturday in Quartz Hill.

The All-Star women would suffer a 14-0 loss to start the tournament. The hometown team took on a quality pitcher from Tehachapi. The KRV-squad was limited to only two baserunners in the five innings played. They had one hit and one free pass as the only times they reached safely. The KRV team was put on strike 10 times. And at one point, the pitcher from Tehachapi retired eleven batters in a row.

Trinity Shepard collected the lone goal for the Kern River Valley squad. She would also work a walk in the fifth inning. She swept a few bases, but was stranded on third base as the inning ended.

The hometown All-Star team fell into the losers bracket of the tournament. This will be a tough road, as every game from now on will be an elimination game.
