Maite Oroz: Tottenham Women sign Real Madrid and Spain midfielder

Tottenham have signed Spanish midfielder Maite Oroz from Real Madrid on the Women’s Super League transfer deadline.

The 26-year-old has signed a four-year contract with Tottenham Hotspur, subject to international clearance and a work visa.

Oroz was co-captain of Real and played 146 games during her four-year spell with Las Blancas.

Her performances in the competition earned her a call-up to the Spanish national team in 2021. She has 15 caps and four goals to her name for her country.

Oroz is Tottenham’s sixth permanent signing this summer, following the arrivals of Clare Hunt, Ella Morris, Hayley Raso, Amanda Nilden and Anna Csiki.
