The tough Graham Everett, Jo Montague and Phil Bambury are about to start their match.

PLAYED in gloomy winter weather, the Kinnear and Cartwright Electrical sponsored Stroke event saw the medal go to Dwayne Laverty with a net score of 69 (three under par), while the Spoon (coarse) again went to Allan Clarke who was four strokes ahead of the field.

Big hitters occasionally hit the first par 4th green with their drive – Brad Fortescue did this, hitting a 33-foot putt for the day’s only eagle.

The closest pins were Campbell Hoskins (A), Mick O’Brien (B) and Tony Grebert (in C class).

The ladies’ Stableford competition was won by Cheryl Fortescue on Tuesday, with Jessica Lambert continuing her consistency to finish second.

There was a good field of participants in the Mid Week Competition, with Paul Donges two strokes ahead of number two Murray Spear.
