Lexington man arrested on assault charges in August

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A Lexington County man was arrested on charges of second- and third-degree assault for an incident that occurred in August.

The alleged attack happened on August 11 on the 1100 block of Hartley Quarter Road.

Cody McKee was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center on November 17.

According to arrest warrants from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD), McKee was captured on video as part of a gang that attacked and beat a man before he appeared to lose consciousness.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was admitted with injuries including a concussion, a broken nose, a significant injury to his ear, as well as scratches and bruises all over his body, the arrest warrant said.

McKee was released on bail after meeting certain conditions, although it was unclear what those conditions were.
