Leicester City face two Premier League points deductions

Leicester City are reportedly set to face two points deductions in one season as the Premier League tries to match Everton’s performance last season.

According to the Sun, the Foxes appear to be in trouble for breaches of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, and it looks like they could face two separate points deductions this season.

It goes without saying that this is a major concern for Leicester, who have only just been promoted from the Championship and subsequently lost manager Enzo Maresca to Chelsea, while star man Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall also left for Stamford Bridge.

Leicester’s new manager, Steve Cooper, has a very difficult task ahead of him: keeping Leicester in the Premier League. And if the club ends up dropping a lot of points, the task could become almost impossible.

Everton managed to keep winning last season despite initially having ten points deducted. On appeal, those points were reduced to six. Then, two more points were deducted.

It will be interesting to see what punishment Leicester receive, but their fans should be dreading this worrying news before they have even kicked a ball in the new Premier League season.
