After previously hinting at his impending retirement, LeBron James appears to have changed his mind after the Olympics.

Heading into the 2024-2025 NBA season, all eyes are on LeBron James and his new Lakers colleague, his son Bronny James Jr.

On September 30, the Los Angeles Lakers hosted a media day, and both members of the James gang were in attendance.

According to Yahoo Sports, LeBron addressed the elephant in the room before their joint interview; his reported impending retirement.

“To go there at my age, with the miles that I have, and to be able to play at the level I was playing at, it gave me … even more of a sense of ‘Okay, I’ve got a lot in the tank. – a lot,’” James said. “I can help a large part of a team achieve ultimate victory, (whether it’s gold or a Larry O’Brien Trophy or whatever). I can still get it done. So that was pretty cool, just from an individual standpoint, to know that you could be among the best players in the world and still play a big part of it, not just on the floor, but off the floor as well. . So that was stupid.”

James also said he played with younger NBA players in the Olympics and Bronny changed his mind about retiring from the game.

While older players usually hate playing with younger talent, LeBron seems to cherish every minute of it.

“It’s pretty awesome,” James said. “It gives you a lot of life. It gives you a lot of life, especially when you are around (other) young boys. I’ve had a lot of that this summer, with Ant Man (Edwards) and Tyrese Halliburton (of the Indiana Pacers) and some young guys on the team. They give you a lot of energy, a lot of life.”

King James seems more involved in the game than ever now that Bronny is a Laker, and if this experiment works, the sky could be the limit. Perhaps the only person more excited than LeBron is the Lakers front office, which is raking in revenue while James’ dream of playing alongside his son becomes a reality.
