Leader of Nationwide Yoga Business Pleads Guilty to Tax Evasion

The leader of a national yoga business pleaded guilty to tax evasion, the Justice Department announced Friday.

According to the DOJ, Greg Gumucio, the founder of Yoga to the People, received more than $3.5 million in income from 2012 to 2020 and owed taxes to the Internal Revenue Service exceeding $1 million, but never filed a personal tax return with the IRS or paid any taxes income.

The DOJ said Gumucio enjoyed an extravagant lifestyle during the charged period, which included expensive foreign travel, hotels, meals, clothing, NFL tickets, and country club payments.
