In this episode of No Cap SpaceYahoo Sports senior NBA reporter Jake Fischer and Yahoo Sports senior NBA writer Dan Devine sit down to talk about a little NBA basketball and a lot of Olympic basketball.

The guys start off with a recap of the US’s convincing quarterfinal win over Brazil, which leaves Jake thinking the Lakers are just one step away from the championship.

Then they move on to the other games, including Serbia’s comeback win over Australia and France sending Canada home after benching Rudy Gobert. How will Serbia’s twin-tower rotations work against Team USA? And will Rudy come back to play against a very dangerous German team?

The guys then go on Five Out, discussing Lauri Markkanen’s contract extension, which will keep him in Utah for the foreseeable future. They also talk about Jonathan Kuminga and Jalen Johnson, who have asked their teams for max contract extensions. They give historical context to Jalen Brunson’s appointment as captain of the Knicks, and wonder what Charles Barkley will do on TNT if the NBA is no more.
