Lalchand Rajput praises Rahul Dravid’s coaching after T20 WC triumph

Former India head coach Lalchand Rajput shared his views on Rahul Dravid’s coaching tenure after India’s thrilling seven-run win over South Africa in the ICC T20 World Cup final.

The victory, achieved by remarkable performances from Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli and Axar Patel, marked India’s second ICC T20 World Cup title and ended an 11-year ICC trophy drought.

In a statement, Rajput highlighted Dravid’s calm yet effective coaching style, often referred to as the “Wall of Cricket”. He commented, “We all know that Rahul Dravid’s coaching is very quiet and correct. We call him the Wall of Cricket… When someone wins the World Cup, everyone jumps for joy. He danced yesterday and showed that he too has another side.”

India’s victory was not only historic in ending their trophy drought, but also in becoming the first team to win the T20 World Cup title undefeated. Meanwhile, the South African team, despite their valiant efforts, remain in search of their first ICC title.
