Lala Kent Gives Birth to Baby #2

Lala Kent is putting together her own girl group, now that she gave birth to her second daughter on Tuesday, September 3.

“Welcome to the world my love,” Kent wrote via Instagram Story, accompanied by audio of adults raving about her newborn.

The Vanderpump Rules star, 33, announced her pregnancy in March, writing via Instagram: “I’m expanding my pod.”

A month earlier, Kent spoke candidly about her decision to use intrauterine insemination (IUI) and a sperm donor for her second child. (She welcomed daughter Ocean with her ex-fiancé Randall Emmett (in March 2021, but the couple split in October of that same year.)

“It’s a path I never thought I would take,” she said Cosmopolitan in January. “I really saw myself in the cookie-cutter relationship and starting a family, but now that the universe has other plans for me, I’m so thankful that this was an option.”

Kent said at the time that she hoped to encourage other women in similar situations by sharing her own circumstances.

“I felt the need to start talking about it because there are women in the world who are sitting there waiting for a man to come into the picture and who just want children even though there is another way to get pregnant,” she continued. “If you want children and you’re just waiting for ‘that person’ to come into your life, let’s talk about another route that we can take.”

During an episode of her podcast “Give Them Lala” in March, Kent revealed that “appearance was probably the lowest (priority) for me” when it came to her sperm donor, adding, “And I hate to say it, but I also didn’t need them to be extremely smart, because I’m not.”

Lala Kent has been vocal about her feelings about growing her family over the years. The Vanderpump Rules star became a mom for the first time when she welcomed daughter Ocean with then-fiancé Randall Emmett in March 2021. I really did. And even my fertility doctor was like, ‘I feel like this was more of an introduction.’ It was like, ‘Hey, nice to meet you. Here you are. Bye!’ It happened so fast.”

Later that month, Kent revealed that she “still had a lot of sperm left” from her donor, “so we can always go for a third round,” hinting at her plans to have another child in the future.

In April, Kent announced she was expecting another daughter. “With this baby, I was feeling all kinds of energy,” she said during an Amazon Live. “I felt like boy energy would be nice to have in the house. But I love girl time. … We have a house full of girls now.”

She then said enthusiastically: “This is my second child. I am doing it all by myself. I am so happy to expand my family.”
