According to reports, the Los Angeles Lakers already have a contingency plan in place for LeBron James’ eventual retirement. It’s a big decision.

“I’ve reported on this podcast and on The Ringer how they’ve got their sights set on Luka (Dončić) going forward,” The Ringer’s Kevin O’Conner said Friday during The Mismatch (0:50 mark). “We’ll see if that works. Dallas just made the Finals, Dallas looks better than ever with their supporting cast. That might not work, but the Lakers are clearly still thinking long-term by not trading their future picks. They’re not going all-in like you’d expect a lot of teams to do with James.”
