Lakers open to trading 2 picks if it leads to ‘sustained’ excellence, says Pelinka | News, scores, highlights, stats & rumors

The Los Angeles Lakers are willing to cash in on their best remaining trade deals if the right deal comes together.

“We would make a trade for both picks if it led to sustained Lakers excellence,” general manager Rob Pelinka said Wednesday. “We would also use a pick to make a marginal upgrade if we felt that was the right thing to do.”

The CEO added that such a step would only be taken after much consultation.

When asked if he wanted to make transfers to make the team a contender again, Rob Pelinka said: “We believe in this group,” but added that it will take about 30 games before we can properly assess what the team has to offer this season.
