Lakers make three roster moves ahead of their final preseason game

The Los Angeles Lakers will play their final game of the 2024 preseason against the Golden State Warriors on Friday night at Chase Center. They will then get three full days of rest before starting their regular season schedule next Tuesday at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

With the practice schedule around the NBA coming to an end, it’s time for teams to start making cuts and finalizing their 15-man rosters and deciding who to keep on a two-way contract.

On Friday afternoon, the Lakers waived guard Jordan Goodwin and center Kylor Kelley, both of whom signed Exhibit 10 over the summer. Additionally, they brought in guard Grayson Murphy.

Goodwin and Kelley played just six minutes total this preseason. Kelley had four points and one assist in LA’s first game, while Goodwin had four rebounds, one assist and one block against the Milwaukee Bucks last week.

Murphy, 25, is 6 feet tall and weighs 190 pounds. He left Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee in 2022, where he averaged 10.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.3 steals per game while shooting 58.9% from the field and 35.7% shot from 3-point range during the 2020-21 season. 21 season.
